Pigeon Creek Flood Mitigation ProjectPigeon Creek Flood Mitigation Project – Ozaukee County, WI

Owner:  Village of Theinsville
Prime Contractor
Contract Value:  $1,120,000
Project Timeline:  March - 02 July 2009

Scope of Project:
Replace 2 Existing Culverts with a Slabspan in a Harley Davidson Parking Lot.

The performed work consisted of demolition and removal of existing structures.   New bridge construction followed involving pile driving, temporary soil shoring system, a water diversion system, steel reinforcement, sub/superstructure concrete masonry, and a decorative parapet.  Additional finishing work included grading, base course, pavement, curb and gutter, erosion control, landscaping and electrical runs crossing the bridge.  Coordination of inspectors and subcontractors was maintained, and all incidental items were executed as necessary to complete the work as shown on the plans, proposal, and contract.

Features & Challenges:

  • The existing conditions of the work area were susceptible to flooding during even minor rainfall.  Also, Vista had to perform a crack and damage survey and monitor all vibratory activities to ensure the adjacent properties were not damaged.

All services were completed on time and within budget to the satisfaction of the Owner.  In addition, our team proposed and performed a redesign which amounted to a cost reduction to the owner.
